Ayurveda describes dandruff (known as Darunaka) as a disease caused by the aggravation of Vata and Kapha doshas. A dry, itchy, and flaky scalp is primarily a Vata imbalance, whereas a sticky, greasy scalp with fungal growth indicates a Kapha overload.

Traditional cures do not rely on harsh synthetic chemicals that strip the scalp's natural defense barrier. Instead, warm, purifying oils containing neem, tea tree, tulsi, and lemon peel are applied. Neem acts as a powerful botanical antifungal agent, tea tree eliminates microbial infections, and lemon peel balances the scalp pH.

**Scalp Detox Ritual:** 1. Apply Pratidarunaka therapeutic oil directly to dry scalp. 2. Focus on flaky or itchy areas, massaging gently (do not scratch). 3. Leave on for exactly 40 minutes. 4. Rinse with lukewarm water. The warming (Ushna) nature of the oil stimulates circulation to prevent recurrence.
